In the footsteps of Ten Hag.. Feyenoord coach on the Premier League radar
Feyenoord boss Arne Sloot has become the latest Dutch coach to be linked with an expected move to the Premier League.
Sloat was widely applauded for the convincing manner in which Feyenoord won their second league title in two decades, but refused to commit to the club from Rotterdam despite their Champions League qualification.
Sloat told reporters, amid wild celebrations in Rotterdam on Monday as more than 100,000 fans celebrated the team’s success, that this was not the time to discuss his future.
The fans, who gathered in the city center, chanted his name and demanded that he stay.
“It is known that my contract still has two years left and at the moment there is nothing else to say,” said Sloat, with speculation growing about the possibility of a move to England, like his compatriot Erik ten Hag, who headed to Manchester United after winning the league with Ajax Amsterdam last year.
According to the English media, Slot was associated with the training of Tottenham Hotspur, who has not settled on a successor to Italian coach Antonio Conte since his departure in March.
Slot revolutionized Feyenoord’s playing style in two seasons with the club, as he relied on a high-intensity attacking style that ensured his dominance locally.
