Nantes punishes the Egyptian Mostafa Mohamed because of the Toulouse match crisis
French Premier League football club Nantes said today, Monday, that it had imposed a fine on Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed for refusing to participate in the Toulouse match in the gay support round for “personal reasons.”
Nantes tied without goals with its host Toulouse, in a match that was absent from the Egyptian player, as well as the Moroccan Zakaria Abu during the player of the owner of the land.
And the club said in a statement, “Mostafa Mohamed refused to participate in the Toulouse match for personal reasons at a time when the team is struggling to stay in the top flight, adding: “For this reason, the Nantes administration decided to punish him financially.”
Nantes, who occupies the 17th place and is a point away from the safety zone, confirmed that the financial fine against Mustafa will be donated to one of the institutions that “fight homophobia and that will be able to make good use of it to fight this scourge.”
Mostafa, the former Zamalek striker, plays in Nantes on loan from the Turkish Galatasaray.
Mostafa, 25, participated in all Nantes matches this season, whether as a starter or as a substitute, and scored eight goals in the league.
