Today, Monday, the Afro-Asian Chess Federation issued a decision appointing the head of the General Entertainment Authority, Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, as honorary president of the federation, due to his influence and passion for the game of chess.

In Cairo, the Afro-Asian Chess Association (AACA) announced its new leadership team, as the federation is one of the leading chess organizations linking two of the world’s most vibrant continents.

Turki Al-Sheikh expressed his happiness with this decision, and said through his account on the social networking site “Twitter”: I was pleased today with the issuance of the decision of the Afro-Asian Chess Association (AACA) to appoint me as honorary president of the federation .. God grant us success and the next is better, God willing.

Turki Al-Sheikh was appointed as a member of the new council of the Saudi Chess Federation, which was issued by the Minister of Sports, Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, on February 20.

It is noteworthy that Sheikh Sultan Al Nahyan won the presidency of the Asian Chess Federation by acclamation for a fifth term until 2026.
