Lukaku leads Inter to victory over Sassuolo
Striker Romelu Lukaku scored twice as Inter Milan beat Sassuolo 4-2 and advanced to third place in Serie A with three rounds left on Saturday.
Lukaku opened the scoring with a powerful shot from long range before the break, and Sassuolo defender Rowan Tresoldi added an own goal.
Lautaro Martinez made it 3-0 with a long-range shot, but Sassuolo scored twice through Mateus Henrique and Davide Frattisi to put pressure on Inter before Lukaku scored a goal in the penultimate minute.
Inter’s balance became 66 points, one point behind Lazio, fourth in the standings, and five points ahead of its neighbor Milan, who suffered a sudden 2-0 loss against Spezia earlier today to remain in fifth place.
