Milan suffered a surprising defeat at the hands of Spezia with two unanswered goals in the match that brought them together today in the framework of the Italian League competitions.

Defender Přemsław Wisniewski and midfielder Salvatore Esposito scored both goals for Spezia, as the team achieved its first victory in nine matches and took a step towards staying in the top flight.

Milan remained fifth with 61 points, two points behind fourth-placed Inter, who hosts Sassuolo today.

Spezia raised its tally to 30 points in 18th place, equal to 17th-placed Verona, who hosts Turin tomorrow, Sunday.
