Dortmund defeats Monchengladbach.. and continues to chase Bayern

Borussia Dortmund scored four goals in a stunning first 32 minutes to win 5-2 at home to Borussia Moenchengladbach and keep their Bundesliga title hopes alive with two matches left on Saturday.

Dortmund has 67 points in second place, one point behind Bayern Munich, who crushed its guest Schalke 04 6-0 earlier in the day.

Dortmund will visit Augsburg next week, while Bayern will play against Razen Pal Sport Leipzig, the competitor to qualify for the Champions League.

The hosts started the game strongly and Donnell Mallen scored when he followed up Sebastien Aller’s shot five minutes later.

Judd Bellingham added the second goal from the penalty spot in the 18th minute and two minutes later Aller made it 3-0 with his heel.

Dortmund took advantage of the collapse of Monchengladbach to score Aller after a pass from Maln in the 32nd minute.

Dortmund fell behind after the break, and Monchengladbach pulled one back with Rami Bensbaini from a penalty kick in the 75th minute.

Lars Stindl fired a low shot into the net as Monchengladbach continued their revival five minutes from time, and Giovanni Reina finished off Dortmund’s goals with the last kick of the game.
