Forest scores a valuable point from Chelsea
Relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest grabbed a valuable point after drawing 2-2 with Chelsea in the English Premier League today, Saturday, thanks to two goals from Nigerian striker Tayo Oneyi.
Forest took the lead when Renan Lodi sent the ball into the Chelsea area in the 13th minute. Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who has been sidelined since participating with Senegal in the last World Cup due to injury, advanced from his own goal but misjudged the ball to score Onyi.
Raheem Sterling equalized in the 51st minute with a close-range shot, after a pass from defender Trevo Chalupa.
Chelsea received a boost that lacked confidence, and Sterling added the second goal in the 58th minute, after a Ruben Loftus-Cheek pass.
But just four minutes later, Forest equalized through Onyi’s close-range header.
Forest are three points clear of the relegation zone with the last two rounds to go, while Chelsea remain in 11th place after a disappointing season.
