The Iraqi Police Club announced that it will not participate in the next edition of the AFC Champions League for financial and technical reasons that prevent it from competing.
Hussein Al-Khorasani, Director of the Media Department of the Iraqi Police, Hussein Al-Khorasani, said: “Financial and technical reasons and motives prevent the team from actively and effectively participating in the next edition of the AFC Champions League, so the administration decided not to participate.”
He added, “The financial and technical differences are great at the present time, compared to other important Asian clubs participating in the competition. This applies even to the rest of the Iraqi teams that are not qualified for real competitions in the continental championship.”
