Officially.. “Beckham’s son” joins Brentford reserve
Brentford announced today, Saturday, that Romeo, son of former England captain David Beckham, has joined the second team on a permanent contract after a loan period.
Beckham, who began training with the team in October last year and moved to him on loan in January for a period of six months from Inter Miami, signed a one-year contract with an option to extend for another year.
The 20-year-old was part of the squad that last May won the Premier League Cup, a competition run by the League for under-21 teams.
Romeo, son of the chairman of Inter Miami and co-owner of the American club, played 15 matches for Brentford’s second team and scored one goal during his loan spell.
Brentford second team coach Neil McFarlane said: “We added Romeo to our squad in January and he has been fantastic in the group.”
He added, “We continued to develop him, whether with or without possession of the ball, and we look forward to his return in good spirits to continue working with him next season.”
