The Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, met with the Saudi Special Olympics before the start of the 16th World Summer Games of the Special Olympics.

Al-Faisal wrote through his account on the social networking site “Twitter”: “Today I was pleased to meet the Saudi Special Olympics champions before the start of the 16th World Summer Games of the Special Olympics. Our confidence in you is great, and you have gold, O heroes.”

Today, Saturday, the Minister of Sports is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The Kingdom’s delegation participating in this year’s tournament is the largest sports delegation in the history of Saudi participation in this tournament, as Saudi athletes participate in 15 different games, with 85 male and female athletes in handball, basketball, judo, bowling, football, and equestrian. badminton, volleyball, bocce, athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, weightlifting, table tennis, and swimming.

For his part, the Minister of Sports wished success to the Saudi athletes participating in this session, by presenting distinguished levels and achieving distinguished results in competitions.

It is noteworthy that the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 will witness the participation of more than 7 thousand athletes, representing 170 countries from all over the world.
