The President of the Saudi Football Association, Yasser Al-Mishal, revealed the latest developments in the selection of the new technical director for Al-Akhdar, to succeed French Hervé Renard.
Al-Mishal said on the “In the Goal” program: “We are close to settling negotiations with the new coach of the Saudi national team. We have put more than one option and big names that have several offers, but as we announced earlier, at the beginning of July, the new coach will be officially announced. We do not want to mention Names so that the negotiations will not be affected.
And about the failure of Al-Hilal’s contract with Messi, he stressed, “I am not sad. On the contrary, the Saudi League today has international names, stars and coaches. In the end, it is negotiations and it did not succeed. It is true that Messi is one of the greatest football players in history, but those who have goodness and blessing.”
He concluded, “The names that will eventually come to the Saudi League will be in the same stardom as Lionel Messi and the other players.”
