Tomorrow.. Morocco faces Kuwait in the final of the Arab Futsal Cup

Tomorrow, Friday, the final match of the Arab Futsal Cup 2023 in its seventh edition, which is organized by the Arab Football Association and hosted by the Saudi Federation, will be held in the Ministry of Sports Hall in Jeddah Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the Moroccan national team will meet its Arab counterpart, the Kuwait national team, for the championship title.

The two teams went through a difficult journey throughout the tournament until the final match, where the Moroccan team began the campaign to defend the title by defeating Comoros 5-0, Lebanon 6-0 and Kuwait 4-2 during the group stage, before defeating Saudi Arabia 5-2 in the quarter-finals. Then Libya, 5-1, in the semi-finals.

On the other hand, the Kuwaiti national team started by defeating Lebanon 5-4, then against the Comoros national team 2-7, before losing to the Moroccan national team 2-4 at the end of the group stage, and after that it achieved a victory over the Egyptian national team in the quarter-finals 6- 2, then overcame the turn of the Algerian national team, 3-2, in the round of four.

The first edition of the championship was held in Cairo in 1998, with the participation of the teams of Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Algeria, Palestine, Sudan and Somalia.

In 2005, the second edition was also held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and the national teams of Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria, Libya, Iraq, Tunisia, Palestine and Morocco participated in it, where the Egyptian national team retained the title, and the Moroccan national team also finished runners-up, followed by the Lebanese national team in third place and the Libyan national team in fourth place, while it hosted Libya, the third edition in 2007, and the national teams of Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt and Iraq participated in it, as the Libyan national team won the title.

Then the championship returned to Egypt in 2008 in its fourth edition, and the teams of Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Libya participated in the competitions. The Libyan team was also crowned with the title, and the Egyptian team came in second place, then the Jordanian team in third place.

After that, the championship returned again to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, which hosted the fifth edition in 2021, where the teams of Egypt, Mauritania, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, the Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the Comoros participated in the competition, as the Moroccan team won the title.

The competitions for the sixth edition were held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of the teams of Morocco, Kuwait, Mauritania, Somalia, Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine and Libya, and ended with the Moroccan team winning the title, while the Iraqi team finished second.
