Before returning to Al-Ahly .. Al-Soma leads Al-Arabi Al-Qatari to crown its first title in 30 years
The Syrian international “Omar Al-Somah”, loaned from Al-Ahly, led his current team to Al-Arabi to achieve a historic achievement by crowning the Emir of the State of Qatar Cup.
Al-Somah scored Zain’s brace, in which Al-Arabi defeated Al-Sadd 3-0 in the final match that took place between them on Friday evening at the Ahmed Bin Ali Al-Mondial Stadium.
After a negative first half, Al-Somah managed to advance Al-Arabi with a goal in the 62nd minute, before his colleague Hamed Ismail doubled the score with a goal in the 90th minute, so that the referee counted 11 minutes of wasted time, during which Al-Somah managed to fire a bullet of mercy, giving Al-Arabi his first title in 30 years.
Al-Somah led Al-Arabi to achieve the runner-up in the Qatari league, with only two points behind Al-Duhail, the league champion, while he scored 19 goals in the league, which brought him second in the list of scorers, behind Al-Duhail player Michael Olonga, with “22 goals.”
Al-Soma had announced in a press conference yesterday, Thursday, that he would return to Al-Ahly club after the end of his loan with Al-Arabi.
