German Mayor of Duisburg celebrates the Special Olympics Green delegation
The German mayor of Duisburg, Siron Link, hosted a dinner yesterday for the delegation of the Kingdom’s teams for the Special Olympics to celebrate their presence in the city before competing in the 16th World Summer Games of the Special Olympics “Berlin 2023”, which will start next Saturday, June 17th and will continue until June 25th in the capital, Berlin.
The mayor of the city, at the headquarters of the city’s sports stadium in Duisburg, received the delegation headed by the National Director of the Saudi Special Olympics, Abdul Rahman Al-Quraishi, welcoming them, stressing the happiness of those in charge of the city in the presence of the Saudi delegation within the program of the cities hosting the games.
He said: “The city of Duisburg had the honor of receiving the Saudi delegation, as it is characterized by good social relations, as there are more than 180 nationalities living together, which makes the city a special place to receive delegations from all over the world.”
He pointed out that the city is one of the first cities that began thinking in an unconventional way to include all segments of society, especially those with special needs, to be like others in society, wishing everyone success and achieving medals and achievements in the tournament.
