Launching a reference platform in agreement between the Football Association and the International Center for Sports Studies

The Saudi Football Association concluded a research cooperation agreement with the Observatory of the International Center for Sports Studies in Football to launch an international digital reference platform for men’s football.

The cooperation agreement will allow the Observatory of the International Center for Sports Studies for Football to conceptualize and develop a digital platform for the benefit of the Saudi Football Association, so that it contains competition data with indicators in three areas, which are demographics, technical performance and physical performance across four different levels for players, clubs, championships and national teams.

This platform allows the Saudi Football Association and its technical department to prepare reports on players’ statistics and performance. Which leads to making strategic decisions regarding the development of football for Saudi players, especially the younger generations.

Technology is one of the main pillars of the development of the Saudi Football Association, since the launch of the Federation’s long-term strategy in 2021. Accordingly, the Federation devotes relevant time and resources to improving its technological and digital preparations and capabilities.

The Football Observatory is a research group of the International Center for Sport Studies, an independent study center located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

The ICFS Football Observatory specializes in the statistical analysis of football and its mission is to advance the frontiers of knowledge for the sustainable development of football worldwide.
