The conclusion of the residents’ basketball program with the participation of more than 1,500 players

Yesterday, the Saudi Sports for All Federation, in cooperation with the Saudi Basketball Federation, concluded the competitions of the Special Residents Basketball Program, by honoring the winning teams of the program, in a final match that was held in the basketball court at Al Hilal Club in Riyadh.

The program extended for six months, as its competitions were held every Friday every week, targeting the age group from 24 to 60 years of residents who love basketball, in order to encourage them to practice sports and maintain physical fitness for them, in line with the goals of the Saudi Sports for All Federation and the Quality of Life Program. One of the Saudi Vision 2030 realization programs aimed at enabling citizens and residents to practice sports and physical activities.

The events and activities of the residents’ basketball program were launched in December of last year, when 5 tournaments were organized with 250 matches, and 1,545 players participated.

The Saudi Sports for All Federation worked on organizing the launch of the program in an organized and motivating manner, which was witnessed by a distinguished audience of fans and fans of basketball, aiming to promote the culture of basketball among members of society and residents in various cities.

The Saudi Sports for All Federation is also moving towards uniting efforts with the Saudi Basketball Federation to continue implementing the basketball program for residents designed to meet the passion of community members in the Kingdom, by working to organize official tournaments that will continue for years to come, aimed at highlighting the skills of players in the sport of basketball and displaying their talents to the public. The global level, in addition to meeting the needs of basketball fans, and activating the communities of residents in the Kingdom.

It also comes as a continuation of the success of the resident programs launched by the Federation, including the National Cricket Championship, which enjoys wide popularity among many residents in the Kingdom and continues to this day.

Within this direction, the federation has come a long way since its establishment in 2018 AD in working to raise the proportion of physical activity among members of society, and to form partnerships that support ambitious initiatives in sports programs through future plans that extend to 5 years, all of which focused on building a healthy society and community participation that includes the citizen. And the resident, in addition to bringing about change and development and building a healthy community with community participation.
