Google has released new security updates for the Android operating system to fix a very serious security vulnerability, which hackers could exploit to install commercial spyware on devices.

And the company stated in its security report for the month of May, that the discovered security vulnerability is related to the operating system ID CVE-2023-0266, which leads to lifting protection privileges without user intervention.

It added that the vulnerability was exploited as part of a complex series of attacks in a spyware campaign, which was monitored to be able to decrypt and extract data from chat and browser applications.
