The Municipality of Jeddah Governorate identified the wrong and correct practices when preserving bread, indicating the technical requirements for its production in accordance with the Saudi / Gulf standard specifications.
The Secretariat explained that packing hot bread in plastic bags and using colored bags for packing and touching it directly is a wrong practice, while it advised packing hot bread in paper bags, or letting it cool at room temperature before using plastic bags.
She pointed out that it is required to leave the bread to cool at 25 degrees Celsius before packaging, and to use healthy, dry and defect-free packaging to preserve its natural properties and validity, provided that the product and packaging are of the same type and size, with storage away from moisture, sunlight, pollution sources and unwanted smells.
