Officially.. the increase of non-Saudi players in the Yellow League and the second division

The Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Association approved increasing the number of non-Saudi players in the Yellow League for first-division clubs from 6 to 7 players, and in the second-division league from 4 to 5 players, starting from the next sports season 2023-2024.

The decision of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Federation came based on the recommendation of the Board of Directors of the First Division League and the recommendation of the Board of Directors of the Second Division League, after consultation with the clubs and the necessary reports from the Professionalism and Players’ Situation Committee and the Competitions Committee of the Saudi Football Association.

In its circular, the Saudi Football Association confirmed that the club has the freedom to identify a non-Saudi player to be “a foreigner or a newborn.”
