Mourinho: Rome has to face history to defeat Seville

Roma coach Jose Mourinho said that the pressure in the European Football League final tomorrow, Wednesday, falls entirely on Sevilla, who were crowned with six titles before.

The Roma coach indicated that his team must face history in order to defeat the Spanish team, which is a candidate for the title.

Despite this, Mourinho said that history will not be present on the field, and that his players share the enthusiasm for Roma’s first titles in the European League.

Mourinho said in a press conference today, Tuesday: “For (Sevilla), playing the European League final is normal. For us, it is an exceptional event.

He added, “For the Seville fans, traveling (to watch) a European final is like traveling to a match in Spain. For us, this is a historic event. So we want to make history,” adding: “History will not play the match, but history makes (Seville) a candidate, and we respect that.”

He continued, “But my team has been playing together for two years, and my children (the players) have the desire to achieve an exceptional achievement tomorrow, Wednesday.”
