The youth team moved away from competing for the title of the current edition of the league championship, which is led by the Al-Ittihad team with 66 points, 3 points behind Al-Nasr, who finished in second place.

The youth team ranks third in the league table with 53 points, 10 points ahead of Al-Nassr and 13 points ahead of Al-Ittihad.

This comes after the youth team lost 12 points in less than a month – specifically 26 days, including 3 against Al-Ittihad and the same against Al-Nasr.

Al-Shabab was defeated 2-1 against Al-Ittihad during the match that brought them together on April 27, before it met a second defeat in the next round against Al-Ettifaq with a clean goal, then was defeated by the same result against Al-Wehda in the next round, before being defeated by 3-2 against Al-Nasr in the last round.

And if Al-Shabab had won the past four matches, his score would have now been 65 points, and accordingly, Al-Ittihad’s balance was 63 points, and Al-Nasr was 60 points – after deducting the points they obtained by winning against Al-Shabab.

It is a scenario that may have been repeated in the past few seasons, with the youth team competing for the top spot in the league table, and then moving away from it during the last rounds.

It is noteworthy that the last league version that the youth team crowned was the 2011/2012 season, when it topped the competition standings table with 64 points, two points ahead of Al-Ahly and 4 ahead of Al-Hilal.
