Big blow for Renard before the Women’s World Cup
The coach of the French women’s national team, HervĂ© Renard, received a heavy blow before the start of the World Cup.
The French national team lost one of its main pillars in the Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled for next summer in Australia and New Zealand, after striker Delphine Cascarino was injured in the right knee.
Lyon club reported that the tests revealed a partial rupture of the right anterior cruciate ligament and confirmed that it would need surgery.
The new coach, Hervé Renard, will have to compete in the world championship without the Lyon player, who is considered one of the most prominent elements of the French national team in its quest for the first World Cup title for women.
