Former victory goalkeeper “Jones” announces his retirement from football

Former Al-Nasr and Liverpool goalkeeper, Australian player Brad Jones, announced his final retirement from football, at the age of 41, after he concluded his career at his hometown club, Perth Glory.

Jones posted on his Twitter account: “It is time to take off my gloves and end this long journey that has taken me all over the world over the past 25 years to do what I only dreamed of as a little boy in Perth.”

“I’ve had the privilege of playing alongside some of the best players in the world and working with some fantastic coaches who have helped me along the way. To the fans of my former clubs, thank you for your support. It’s amazing to think I’ve been part of some historic moments for some of them.”

“I have to thank my wife, who had to make so many sacrifices, and moved wherever my career took us, and also my three children who now live in four countries and have always adapted and made decisions to move with greater ease,” he explained.

And the former Al-Nassr goalkeeper concluded: “I hope to continue to participate in football in some form in the future and to continue participating in this beautiful game.”
