And saved Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope from a deadly goal for Leicester City, after an elaborate header from Madison in the last minute of the match.
With this result, Newcastle raised its score to 70 points in third place and ended the hopes of fifth-placed Liverpool, with 66 points, to qualify for the Champions League before the 38th (last) round.
Newcastle succeeded in qualifying for the Champions League after the Saudi Investment Fund acquired ownership of the club.
