Today, the President of the Saudi Billiards and Snooker Federation, Dr. Nasser Al-Shammari, inaugurated the Arab Cup, which is organized by the Saudi Federation at its headquarters in Riyadh, and will continue until the end of this month, with the participation of 12 teams.

The opening ceremony coincided with the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Saudi Federation, which was equipped on a world-class level, and is the latest and largest in the Middle East. It includes more than 44 billiards and snooker tables, in addition to lecture halls, an entertainment hall, and many facilities.

The opening ceremony included a line-up for the teams participating in the tournament, followed by a speech by the President of the Saudi Federation, Dr. Nasser Al-Shammari, who welcomed the Arab teams in the Kingdom, highlighting the importance of these tournaments in developing the technical level of Arab youth, and providing them with the necessary skills and experience to represent their countries well in various tournaments.

The first day of the tournament witnessed the holding of a number of competitions, represented in the men’s snooker “team” competitions, where the Qatar team defeated Saudi Arabia A with a score of 2/1, Qatar’s victory over Saudi Arabia B with a score of 3/0 and Kuwait’s victory over Saudi Arabia A with a score of 3/0 in the group. The first.

In the second group, the Iraqi national team defeated Oman 3/0, and Iraq defeated Saudi Arabia C 3/0, and the Jordanian national team overcame its Bahraini counterpart 2/1.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees, Abdulaziz Al-Anzi, the President of the West Asian Football Federation, Abdel Moneim Al-Khattal, the President of the Arab Federation, Omar Al-Kharadli, and the heads of the delegations of the participating teams.
