Abdullah bin Musaed: Sport is a soft power…and the transfer of stars to the Kingdom is “influential”

The owner of Sheffield United, Prince Abdullah bin Musaed, said that sport is a soft force that affects the mental image of Saudi Arabia and increases its influence on the world.

The owner of Sheffield United Club spoke during a dialogue session at the National Media Conference on the Kingdom’s acquisition of Newcastle, saying: “It greatly and positively affected the club’s fans in terms of their sympathy and love for the Kingdom.”

He added, “The transfer of international sports players to Saudi Arabia is a great influence and an important factor regarding the mental image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

And he continued his speech, saying: “Saudi Arabia’s victory over Argentina in the World Cup revealed to the world that we have high capabilities, and it was at that time one of the best days, and I feel proud of that.”
