Barcelona’s women’s team lost for the first time in a La Liga match in two years, after stumbling 2-1 to Madrid CFF at the end of the season today, Sunday.
Rachel Kundanani scored twice in the first half for Madrid, and Alexia Potillas, winner of the Golden Ball, pulled one back for the league champions.
And thus stopped a series of 64 consecutive matches without defeat for Barcelona, dating back to July 2021.
Barcelona had achieved 62 consecutive wins before drawing 1-1 with Seville this month.
Barcelona leads the league with 85 points, ten points behind its closest competitors, Real Madrid.
Barcelona will focus on facing Wolfsburg in the Women’s Champions League final on June 3.
