Leeds is in the danger zone after the loss from West Ham

Leeds United gave up its lead with an early goal, and lost 3-1 to its host West Ham United, to worsen its position in its quest to escape from relegation in the English Premier League today, Sunday.

Leeds’ credit frozen at 31 points out of 37 games and ranks 18th, two points behind Everton, 17th. Leicester City comes 19th with 30 points, but has played 36 games.

Leeds concludes its campaign against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday.

Rodrigo Moreno advanced with a goal for Leeds in the 17th minute, with a shot from 12 yards after a side throw from Weston McKinney.

Declan Rice equalized for West Ham in the 31st minute, in what might be his last home game before his possible departure in the summer, taking advantage of Jarrod Bowen’s pass.

West Ham dominated the game and scored the second goal when Danny Ings passed the ball to Bowen, who fired a powerful shot into the net with the outside of the foot in the 72nd minute.

West Ham’s victory was confirmed in stoppage time when Lucas Paqueta dribbled more than one player with individual skill on the right side and then sent a pass that substitute Manuel Lanzini turned into the net from close range.

And it was confirmed that the second and third goals were counted after returning to the video assistant referee, due to suspicions of offside in both cases.

West Ham became 40 points in 14th place, and Manchester City secured the league title for the third season in a row, after Arsenal lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest yesterday, Saturday.
