The Gulf handball coach, Greek Dimitris Demitrollas, said that this season is his first to work in the Kingdom, stressing that he worked with his team throughout the season and the result was achieving championships and there is still more to come.
The Gulf team was crowned the Handball Premier League title after its victory, this evening, Saturday, against its counterpart, Mudar, with a score of 23-22, during the match that brought them together in the 22nd round.
The Gulf handball coach said in exclusive statements to “Sport 24”: “He was aware of the criticism he was subjected to at the beginning of my work for the team, but I focused on my work, as I was coming from Europe and leading a large team and achieving championships with it.”
He added, “I came here to work according to the methods and strategies, and in the end I was able to achieve the required result.”
Commenting on the possibility of winning more championships, Dimitris said that the Gulf is one of the best teams in the Kingdom and in the league was the best defensively as well as offensively, stressing that his team is certainly capable of winning more championships.
The Gulf coach indicated that he had spoken with the players that this joy at today’s coronation should not turn into counterproductive results, stressing that after two days they will return to training with all seriousness for the upcoming competitions.
