The Asian Football Confederation launched a referendum at the end of the 2022 AFC Champions League about the best goalkeepers in the continent.
The Japanese club, Urawa Red Diamonds, won the tournament title; After defeating Al-Hilal in the final round, by 2-1, in the two-legged aggregate.
The referendum included: Al-Hilal goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Mayouf, youth goalkeeper Fawaz Al-Qarni, Ketepong Puthawchwek, Thai Pathum United goalkeeper, Shusaku Nishikawa, Urawa Red Diamonds goalkeeper, and Shihab Jordan, Foolad Khuzestan goalkeeper.
